Florence/Firestone Community Center is a multi-purpose facility designed to provide comprehensive human services to residents of the Los Angeles County in partnership with communities, businesses, and public and private agencies. The following programs and services offered at the center include but not limited to: case management, information and referral, completion of forms, interpretation, advocacy, consumer education, job referrals, elderly care services, emergency food assistance, mediation and conflict resolution, transportation assistance, utility assistance and assistance with housing applications online.


  • Available for meetings, call (323) 586-6502.

  • Volunteer & Internship opportunities for community members, including court referred individuals, Cal Work’s participants and high school and college students.

  • Assistance is available for youth, adult, and senior citizens. Public access computers are available. Participants receive training on various computer applications including: Internet, Microsoft Windows, Word, Power Point and Excel. Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

  • Also known as the Pantry Program, provides food to low-income families, individuals and seniors. Eligibility is not required to access this program. The Center accepts food donations from individuals and organizations. The Pantry operates Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. Emergency distribution is available during regular center hours.

  • Health care screening, nutrition education, aerobic exercises, arts & crafts, dancing, bingo, pool table, mobile library program, health fairs, outside cultural events, referrals to low-cost health care and medical coverage programs, and Metro Senior Identification Cards for transportation – Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

  • A 24-hour social service program mandated by the State of California to receive all reports about suspected abuse/neglect of an elder (65 years of age or older) or a dependent adult (18–64 years of age and physically or mentally impaired) who are reported to be endangered by physical, sexual, or financial abuse, and caregiver neglect, or self-neglect. We provide intake services to report all abuse. Should you need assistance in reporting abuse, please call our office and the APS intake specialist will assist you in the referral. (323) 586-6502.

  • Birth, Death, and Marriage certificates are available Monday through Friday. Civil marriage ceremonies are performed on Fridays. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (323) 586-6192

  • Second district constituent services. Helps obtain information about County departments and services. Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (323) 586-6523

  • Hot nutritious meals are provided to senior citizens 60 years of age or older. Monday through Friday 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (323) 586-6026

  • Provides information and form completion assistance for Food Stamps and Medi-cal. Tuesdays 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

  • Assist consumers with problems and/or questions on landlord-tenant, retail purchases, credit, automobile sales, signing contracts, collection agencies, identity theft & other consumer related issues. Mondays and Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (323) 586-6500.

  • Neighborhood watch program for community residents. Fourth Tuesday of each month 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (323) 586-6502

  • Mobile reading van. Seniors can rent DVD’s and books at no charge, every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (323) 586-6502.

  • Nutrition and health assessments. Mondays 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (323) 586-6502

  • Fitness equipment available for seniors. Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Dance every Friday. (323) 586-6502
