County Connects Residents to Local Construction Jobs
On Saturday, May 18, more than 150 Los Angeles County residents attended the Construction Job & Resource Fair at the LAC+USC Medical Center. Attendees learned about employment opportunities for the Women’s Hospital Demolition Project in areas such as: General Debris Removal, Hazardous Material Removal, Electrical Trades, Plumbing Trades, and general construction.
Although jobs were not offered, attendees were able to apply to jobs with the construction contractors and learn about employment opportunities on several County projects on the LAC+USC Medical Center campus. The proposed projects will begin soon as part of a series of construction projects that are underway to improve medical facilities and provide economic development opportunities to the surrounding communities. Participants also received information on job training resources and other career paths through our America’s Job Centers of California.
