Easter Egg Hunt – Families First Onsite Outdoor Event Since the Pandemic

San Gabriel Valley residents were invited to the first onsite, outdoor family event at the San Gabriel Valley Service Center since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the center to close its doors to the public earlier last year.  Staff organized a fun festive outdoor event for both, staff members and families to enjoy.

Following public health guidelines and safety protocols, about 2-3 families were scheduled to attend per hour; all who attended had opportunities to take a social distant family picture with the Easter bunny and participate in arts & craft activities.  Supervisor Hilda L. Solis also made a surprise visit to thank staff for organizing the event and took photos with all of the participating children.

Kids and adults of all ages were able to join in on the fun!  Each child received a bag full of toys and treats and had an opportunity to win an Easter basket for the grand prize during the Easter Egg Hunt.  Many families expressed their gratitude to the staff for creating an almost near normal experience and look forward to future onsite activities as the County slowly reopens.
